Nohmasks

Nohmasks are Masks that are made for the Japanese Traditional Theater Noh, which has evolved in the 14th century and is still being performed today. It is said that the first Nohmasks are even older than the Noh theater itself - their origins dating back far back to times when Vorformen of the Noh have been performed as a play for the gods with prayers for good harvest and prosperity.  Over the centuries it has developed to a  profound and refined form of art. It is a  musical  theatre with  masks as its distinct feature.  They are  made in a way, that  they show different expressions depending on the angle and the performers gestures and posture.
